The Bhartiya Janata Party if it is elected to power in the upcoming general elections has some specific proposals for the IT and Telecom sectors, BJP has promised that it will provide broadband access to rural areas at less than Rs 200/month not just broadband it has also promised to provide free mobile phones to families which are below poverty line.
In its IT vision document The NDA has also said that it will create around 12 million IT enabled jobs for rural india, create productive employment opportunities on a large scale, improvements in healthcare services, check on corruption, accelerating human development and education.
Other initiatives include linking the primary health centre in every village to the National Telemedicine Service Network; massive expansion in the use of IT in agriculture, rural development, SMEs, retail trade, and informal and unorganised sectors of the economy; national e-governance plan to cover every government office from the centre to the panchayats; and a toll free number for citizens to contact their respective Member of Parliament.

IDEA Cellular has said it has Plans to invest 300-400 Crore in its Karnataka network.
Idea has plans to expand its recently acquired Spice Communication Ltd; The Mobile Company wants to reach 78% of villages my march 2010. At preset the company operates close to 40% of villages in Karnataka.
Its Recently acquired Spice commutation has around 9-10% markets share compare to its rival Bharti Airtel, with idea taking over spice it is expected to put more money into increase it coverage and improve technology.

Tata Teleservices along with their current CDMA operations are ready roll
out pan-India GSM srvices in line with the policy to permit dual technology
The permission to roll out their GSM services was given on 10th January 2008.
Nine companies like Loop Telecom(owned by BPL), Spice Communication,
Shyam Telelink, Swan Telecomm Datacom and Idea Cellular, Unitech, STel
got the Letter of Intent, Unitech and STel being new players in this field.
Other applicants such as By-Cell, Alliance, Cheetah, Parsvnath, Selene
Infrastructure and HFCL did not get the permission from the Department of
Telecom. More than 46 companies had applied for the licences.
