The BSE Sensex was up 60.61 points to 9,296. The market turned positive after showing weakness in opening trade. Asian markets were trading lower today, as a record crash in Japanese production and lower profit forecasts fueled anxiety among investors.
Companies like Tata Steel, Hindalco Industries, Bharti Airtel fell by between 0.25% to 1.28%. While, Jaiprakash Associates, Ranbaxy Labs, Sterlite Industries, Reliance Communications rose by between 1.3% to 4.17%.

Punjab National Bank (PNB) today announced its Q3 Results; the bank has given very good numbers as the banks net profit jumped by 85.61%. The Net Profit stood at 1005.8 crore against 541.5 crore in same quarter in last financial year.
The bank has reported net interest income of Rs. 1967.4 crore Vs 1424.4 crore YOY which is up by 38.12%
NIM (Net Interest Income) was at 3.5%
Bank also has cut the PLR by 50 basis Points and deposit rate by 50-100 basis points.

Today stock markets had good day today, Nifty which was facing resitance at 2830-2860 broke toady and closed above these levels.
Nifty opened at week, but with fresh buying coming in Index stocks the Nifty and the Sensex recovered from their lows. CNX Nifty Ended at 2874.80 up by 1.80% and the BSE Sensex closed at 9434 up by 197.
In today trade buying was seen in Reliance Industries and Reliance Capital, even the real easte major DLF done well in today markets.
Top gainer in NIFTY are Hindalco which came with better than expected Q3 results closed up by 7.71% and DLF saw shot covering and closed at 7.53% up at 176.40. HCL TECH up 6.28%, Suzlon up 6.26%
Top Loser in NITY SUNPHARMA down by 6.38% and BHEL 2.79%
Auto major Marui also saw good buying and gained 5.54%, Rcom closed up by 5.40%

A board member of IT services firm said that six to seven companies are ready to take over Satyam computers completely besides the private equity funds it also includes global and Indian IT firms.
earlier this week government had appointed Goldman Sachs and Avendus Capital as investment bankers to Satyam Computers, It said that the investment bankers will lookinto this matter seriously and will evaluate their proposals as the process will take a little longer it is expected to be over by next month, However on the other side Mr Tarun Das refused to reveal the names of the companies that are standing as potential suitors for Satyam.
